Though printer technology has improved significantly in recent years, printers can still be incredibly frustrating for those who use them. Some models run through ink extremely quickly, while others can’t seem to maintain a high quality output.
Other common problems include slow print speed and paper jams. Or, perhaps you’ve faced this conundrum: your printer simply refuses to print. Luckily, most of the times these printer problems are resolvable if you access printer support.
All major printer manufacturers offer printer support. The first step in resolving your printer problem is identifying which company manufactures your printer. If it’s one of the companies listed below, follow the steps listed to access support.
HP Printer Support
You can find printer support at HP’s printer support portal (http://www.support.hp.com/us-en/products/printers). Simply type your specific problem or question into a search field at the top of the page to find applicable results. Alternatively, you can select your specific model from a list including ENVY, OfficeJet, LaserJet, Photosmart, Deskjet, PageWide, PSC, DesignJet, and Industrial Printers. From the support website, you can also download drivers, access troubleshooting and set-up information on forums, register your product, and search for authorized printer technicians.
Epson Printer Support
Epson’s printer support website (http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/SupportIndex.jsp) offers information about printer troubleshooting and set-up in a variety of formats. First, select your Printers & All-in-Ones. More printer options will appear, including single-function Ink Jet, laser, impact, and label, among others. Select your type of printer and then choose the product. You may have to look on the device to identify the specific product code. Once you select your printer model, you will have access to frequently asked questions, informative videos, manuals, drivers and downloadable software, and support over the phone, in person, by mail, or by email.
Canon Printer Support
Canon offers product support here (https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support). You can first select to proceed by email or phone if that suits your needs better. Alternatively, you can choose a category to find relevant information. Categories include Drivers & Downloads, Manuals, Knowledge Base Articles, and Additional Product Support. Additionally, you can enter the name and number of your model and gain access to all relevant information. Finally, Canon offers a knowledge center which allows you to browse articles and information about various products.
Brother Printer Support
Similar to other product support websites, Brother offers an online portal here (http://support.brother.com/g/b/productsearch.aspx?c=us&lang=en&content=dl). You must begin by choosing your product category. Types of printers included in the product categories include: color printers, monochrome laser printers, high-speed workgroup printers, and others. Once you select your product category, you will be required to choose from a list of series and models. When you select your printer model, you then have to proceed by choosing the operating system family you use it with, whether Windows, Mac, Linux, or Mobile. You will then be instructed to select your specific version. After, you may search for relevant installation and troubleshooting information. If you have difficulties at any stage during this process, you can choose to contact Brother via a customer support number at the top of the page.
